Yeah noted will be putting some more water in, I don't really ever tend to drive far so food wise i think some chocolate and cereal bars will be OK for my needs (will adjust for any further trips) . Thanks for the advise :)

I drive a works van at night and have been stuck in snow for 6 hours before now, so i always take a stainless steel flask of boiling water in the winter, even if i only use it to defrost my windows before i go home its worth having with me. I also have started carrying my crusader cook kit and a can of chaffing gel, it works fine (very safe to carry)and i can make coffee with it easily if i get stuck again.
I also have a 3 litre battle of water (as well as the crusader bottle and if winter the flask) so nearly 6 litres, dont forget you should have some water to put in the vehichle for the radiator and washers.
In the family 7 seater i have the same but have 5 litres instead of the 3.

Water is the one. A couple of mars bars etc will do. We can live without grub for 24 hours. Water we cannot.

Don't keep Mars Bar (or similar) in your car!!!

The first day with any kind of sun (even in winter) and you will just have a lump of melted reconstituted glop!

Get trail bars or granola bars instead as they will not melt when the car heats up with the sun.

As long as it's in the sealed pack, it'll eat alright!! :D

Guys take note, this is how to do it ;)

Junmist: Your RAC cover you in other people's cars?
My AA does, and seeing as I don't have a car (I'm the spouse on a 'Couples' membership) its handy to have if a mate gives me a lift
