Water Starvation?

Post by QUAID »

Now ive heard and experienced Rabbit starvation to a certain degree http://yearzerosurvival.com/protein-poi ... tarvation/
But when it comes to water?????
My question is - Are modern water filters fixated on ultra filtration and at what cost?
We all want to get rid of and filter out debris, protozoa, viruses etc etc but if filters produce upto 'clinically pure' water, will they deprive you of the minerals in the water that you need?

I know that there are minerals in other food we eat, but in a SHTF situation we will need all we can get.

Any thoughts?

Filters remove particulates eg bacteria mud silt and grit they wont catch minerals in solution...

UNLESS you use water distilation or R/O filters. then you could be in trouble..

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

I don't think they remove minerals just the usual gunk. have a look at Sawyer mini filters.
Adapt or Die, there is no middle ground.

That was a great article from 'Well Gal', as she says, you are basically drinking 'essentially lifeless water'.
Definately something to think about.
I currenltly harvest water and treat it myself, but in case of bug out, i have some Lifesaver bottles... Might be worth dropping the manufacturers an E-Mail...

Thanks folks.
