City Centre shop will cease to exsist when lease runs out, I'm sure of that.
GL4 store has been there donkeys years, with many up grades.
GL2, Glos Quays, newest development to enhance the redevelopment of the docks area - which of course hasn't happened in quite the way they hoped!!!!!!!

Stop slamming Gloucester - actually, carry on, quite agree with you.

I have worked in and around the GL area for the past 12 years Su, so have seen a bit of it, Wonder if they will ever re-develope Barton street, apart from the Cultural centre and the Going outdoors shop, the leisure centre and the Sally army it is all a bit "weathered" from what I recall

Hereford had a quay side on the river Wye, and sail ships used to get there all the way up from the sea via the Severn.

About time you got the atlas out Lil, and see that there is a huge and horrible place south of your location

Can't imagine that ever happening; town centre's going the same way. Lived here on and off for 40 yrs and it continues to go down hill. The only development we see are supermarkets and hotels - why anyone would want to holiday here is beyond me!

Historically, Gloucester was the lowest crossing point on the River Severn. Although the river has a good tidal range the canal and docks were built to make getting boats into Gloucester easier.
The Onedin Line (a BBC programme in the 70's) was partially fimed at the docks.
The modern Harry Potter films were partially filmed at Gloucester Cathedral.
Yep, crime rate is high - as like anywhere we have some large pockets of deprived areas and a huge multi-ethnic area near the city centre.
