Yeah, failed on the first attempt......

Post by Stasher »

Hi there, managed to place my first post in 'suggestions'

Tip of the week is therefore, if I'm running in one direction make sure you're not!

Hello!

I've been skulking around this site for a while now, delving into various posts and so far I've felt  and  and :?: and :o and a lot of :!:

So I thought it best to turn up in person and get involved!

Prepping is a new word to me. I've always called it 'stashing' or more recently I've got bits for 'Bruce' ie when THSHTF Mr Willis always turns up.

Oh yes, what does OPSEC stand for? I think I've mastered most acronyms, but that one has me stumped

Anyway, I'm looking forward to joining in, thanks for having me

OPSEC stands for OPerational SECurity, otherwise know as keeping your gob shut about your prepping to non preppers and the general public.

Got it. Actually I think if I even mentioned stashing/prepping to friends/neighbours they would think I was barking. Years ago I got a tin out of a friends cupboard and she had six, that's SIX tins, four of which were chopped tomatoes. When (cos I couldn't help myself) I said 'what if something happens? How are you going to survive?' She gave me a weird look and told me there were three supermarkets within 2 miles of the house. Lesson learnt.

yeah right! what is she going to do when the deliveries to the supermarket stops? typical sheeple remark.

And when she loses her job due to whatevertheheckmighthappeninthecompanyorthenationalorglobaleconomy and her reserves of cash runout, then she knows where to shop from.

Knowing where the supermarkets are is useless (in my experience) if you are struggling to survive. Knowing how to build your survival on a budget and having some stocks so that no matter what you wont starve make sense.

Shes not really with the world is she....

Even if its not the end of the world financially its good to have some cheap foods stored up so that if you need to make a big expenditure, you can go without doing the shopping for a while and just live off what you have in store.

This is another reason why I am so interested in home made tofu. I figure that meat can e hard to store, apart from canned / tinned stuff or maybe jerky, but home made tofu will be fresh the day you make it.
