Not new!

Post by TopSod »

Hi all,

Been a member since last year but haven't been as active as I'd like to have been so just formally introducing myself again.

34 male, Cumbria based.

I've still been prepping but on a very small scale due to a planned house move. I didn't want to go making stores of stock to have to move it all, so I've just been making sure we had water, heat and light preps.

We currently live in a terraced house and you can't so much as breathe without the neighbours knowing. For that reason we have spent the last few months decorating/sprucing up the house to sell and viewing others. Happily we have found a house now and ours has sold, although we are still at the 'getting a new mortgage' stage so touch wood everything works out. The new house is about a 20 minute drive from the city, crossing the motorway flyover, B road for 10 minutes then going through a village, then B road for another 10 minutes after a not very obvious turn. To walk due to the roads/hills would take about an hour.

Happily, the new house is a semi in a village of around 90 homes, huge back garden with stone shed, views as far as the eye can see and a south facing garden - Solar panels coming our way once we get in, and it's a huge roof to cover with them!

The loft is boarded out already so lots of space for storage there, the toilet is not connected to the mains sewers as it goes to a sceptic tank, and as well as central heating it also has a wood burner. I think we've done pretty well there!

There's also a great deal of woodland within 30 minutes cycle ride, but it's mainly surrounded by farmland.

So, that's me!

Thats' great. New home clears the mind for new opportunities, lots of us I am sure think that if we were starting afresh today the approach would have been different!
