Sellin' stuff

Post by ForgeCorvus »

I'm being ruthless in my sorting and clearing, I therefore have a lot of things that are for 'disposal by way of trade'

Ebay is getting some of it but there are items they won't accept

So, those things that are useful to Preppers, Bushcrafters or Homesteaders are going to end up here.

I'll start off with these (and add more later)

Leatherman Style CS, new and still packed

This is the scissor one, not the plier one
Its about three inches long when folded,I use one as a key fob.
(I arranged a group buy a few years back and miss counted)
£18 Posted (currently on Amazon @ £21.50)

Hatchet.Now sold, Thanks Q-R

12 inch ash handle, brown leather mask, head weighes around 600g and it totals at 1lb 9oz (just over 700g).
Coated with my beeswax, linseed and turpentine mix, its currently shaving sharp.
£25 (posted)

I'll haggle, so feel free to make an offer

Last thing for today.

I could probably ebay it, but its likely to be more use to one of us.

Cast iron highsided frying pan
Image
Image
Its 7 1/2 inches across and 1 3/4 high
The wooden handle is held on by a threaded rod that passes all the way through (so you can take it off and use it in the oven)
The lid is one I found, its ali and I think from an egg steamer.... An OK fit, not a great fit.
Rust spots on the outside, still seasoned inside (wouldn't hurt to re do it though)
£12 (£5.60 of that is postage.... Heavy bugger init ;) )

I thought it would be best to necro this thread rather then make a new one

Couple of Ebay links, these are my sales

Large ALICE

'58 Long sleeping bag Now sold

Gelert double burner stove , its been used before I got it. I've had it connected up, lit, etc and it seems to be in good working order. (ran well on a 4.5kgs butane bottle)
Its currently got a piece of clear pressure hose as a supply rather then the normal rubber.
I've only got one spare Regulator so I can't include that in the sale, but you can buy new ones for about a fiver .

It'll be about a fiver to send, call it £10 total

Necro again due to more gear being added
Hatchet sold....... Well, swapped along with some other stuff (Thanks Q-R)

We'll start with a Polish army Laavu, its made up from two issue Zeltbahn (shelter-halves) along with two pole-kits so I'm assuming that its supposed to be shared between you and your buddy.
This would be a great long-term Bug-Out/INCH tent, I got it for wild camping/bushcraft type weekends but getting away for those is proving difficult at this stage in my life
I've got a mate who hot-tents his.

Sorry the pictures are tiny, Flickr is being a PITA again

The last shot is of the canvas folded and the two pole-kits laid on top, this is now rolled for transport into a bundle that is roughly 19 inches long and 22 inches around.
Weight (including enough steel 'wire' pegs for all the grommets plus a couple of spares) is 7lbs 4 1/2oz (3300 grams if you like).
When up its footprint is approx. 90 inches diameter, the single pole (when assembled from both kits) is 55 1/2 inches so the tent stands a little taller then that.
The poles are aluminium, but heavier versions with wooden poles are on Ebay for £35 delivered.

Make me an offer

Next a brand new Down sleeping bag, its square bottomed rather then mummy and can unzip all the way (the bottom has a separate zip to the side, so you can just undo the bottom and stick your feet out)..... Its one of these On Ebay.
They gave the diamentions as 190cm by 75 cm, this is wrong.
My bag is 180cm by 68cm and as a result is too small for my gorrilla-like body (fits my wife just fine, but she already has a great bag ), if it was a couple of inches bigger I'd keep it
I started a complaint via Ebay and because it would cost the seller way too much money for me to send it back to them they gave me a partial refund and said I could dispose of the bag.
So, here it is. New and with the tags still attached. I'd like £40 delivered (or you can collect and save a fiver).

As I've said before, I'll haggle (or even make barter arrangements) so don't be shy

what do you think of this Polish tent? I will get one for myself, they are really cheap in Poland. ex mil is cheap there - gas masks cost 3 quid - never used, even if they remember cold war times ;-)

I've got a couple of mates who use them and they're popular with the bushcrafters who want to hot-tent or don't swing and want a bit more then a tarp overhead (canvas is more forgiving around fires)

I've got a solo backpacking tent and if I was Bugging-Out I'd have Herself and the critters to acommodate, so this is one I don't need ATM

I reproofed it last year (I think) and if space wasn't an issue I'd just add it to the stockpile.

BTW, I was at a game a couple of years back and one evening a guy wandered up to ask if he could borrow a light because he couldn't see where he'd pitched his...... Turned out he'd walked past it and hadn't seen it from 20 feet (under a tree against a six foot hedge)

I wouldn't advise to use old gas mask or filter. It will cost you life when you'll need it.

Is it a matter of just filter or mask as well?
btw, the Polish tent costs 3 quid in Poland, most probably unused, not even sure if army still uses it, rather not as they have changed all uniforms quite a few years ago
