I'm guessing you glance at posts then decide to troll, I got it wrong its 15 feet from the centre of a public highway even if you are on your own land, and I did say IF your pellet leaves your boundary it is a firearms offence.
And well done for being part of a reputable air rifle club, but I didn't question you, just pointed out the law

if the pellet leaves your boundary your not a competent marksman, at the range we have to stay within the limits of the range or else the club would get shut down, like I say only take the shot if your sure of hitting the target otherwise forget it.(by "you" I don't mean you personally, I mean the person doing the shooting)

I think we need to remember that just reading rather than speaking does make things sound rather rude, accusatory, aggressive and blunt at times. This is the only problem with communications such as forums, text messages and emails, it's very hard to get across what you mean sometimes without it coming out sounding very, very wrong.

I do it all the time without meaning to... or do I

I have one. But you cannot use it in an aviary.

Dead right. That is where the covered bait points come into their own. There are no mice on the roof of the aviary though - that is where our cats lay!

How about an Owl then? would it leave the other birds alone in favour of the rodents?
Not that I'm against poisoning the little buggers, another idea for an aviary, if the floor can be kept seperate somehow by a grid, an electric floor for them of alternating bars would be fun to watch  - Carry on screaming - Kenneth Williams -"Frying tonight!"
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

I'm not in favour of poisoned baits, when we have a terrier that picks up anything

Rat bait station

Obviously not to be left where cold wet noses snuffle. But tbh mostly the problems occur in storage areas (where there is a door!) and are therefore contained until you open said door. Also ours tend to be up on surfaces where cold wet noses cannot get!
