New Prepper from Brighton

Post by BradPaine »

hi as the subject says I am new to this site and newish to prepping, I 1st got into prepping about a year ago but I have been fascinated about prepping for 3 or 4 years. I dont know what zone I am in as It confuses me about the zones, I havent been able to get much due to having to Prep on a budget but here is a short list of what I have.

I currently have 8 bags ready for prepping all of wich are water resistant and tough, different size 2 of them are 60 litre the smallest 20 litre.
I have a camping stove with solid fuel I think its called, 20 cans of food, I have 200 disposable lighters (I got them cheap off ebay), 50 boxes of strike anywhere matches and 6 Zippo's, I have my 20 inch machete, 4 different sized knives, a Relum Tornado air rifle wich was passed down to me by my dad and a air pistol, when TSHTF I will take the pistol with me but just due to the fact of intimidation factor when TSHTF Pre-load and CO2 air rifles are going to become a expensive heavy paperweight so im saving up for a Recurve bow and a compact crowssbow.

Im sort of stuck because there is loads of stuff I need but I don't know where to start, I already have a B.O.P (bug out plan) sorted. Im always willing to accept constructive criticism so if anyone can assist me in what i should do next i would be appreciative.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.:)

Sit down and have a cuppa, you have already placed yourself above the majority of the population by starting to prep.

Look again at your BOP, and work out how you will implement it with the stuff you have.

i.e.

How you going to transport it all? - have a primary, secondary and tertiary plan ( car, bike, shopping trolley)

How much food/water will you need whilst travelling? weigh it, if you cant back pack it cache some along varying routes.

has your BOP got redundacy locations as well?

etc, etc......

If you haven't enough equipment, food and water to carry the above out... well, you know what's next.

Hope that helps and not puts the fear of failure into you
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

hopefully it wont happen in the next year...if it doesnt then i will be transporting it by hand and my new off road pull wagon (its not just for off road its on road with the capability for off road) ... because of where i live the main mode of transportation is car the roads will be blocked off due to traffic... and while traveling i wont need much food due to the b.o.l (bug out location) is in the next city next to the 1 i live but its tucked away a area where there is nothing of value...the wagon will be able to carry a maximum load of 250kg, i will also have 4 people in my group who are capable of pulling it, they are all family... and as for redundancy locations not really as im hoping for the location as its the only location i know well enough... i need alot more equipment, but like i posted before all co2 and pre-charged airrifles will be fine when tshtf 1st happens but evenually they will need re-charging and or re-filling they then will be heavy paperweights.
My b.o.l is on a industrial estate wich mainly makes garden furniture, a go-kart track, and other warehouses....the warehouse i will be using in on the 2nd floor, belongs to my uncle and he has already reinforced the front door and the fire exit

Hi. You can find out about the areas here:

viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1989

I can see that you definitely intend to BO when SHTF. I have only been prepping for a couple of weeks you seem to be way ahead of me. I intend to BI due to personal circumstances but once I'm more prepped for that I will be prepping for INCH as well. Anyway welcome, there's plenty of good advice on here.
