Thanks, I think I'll probably go for the 5 in that case, or remove the locking ring from the 6...

Something to add to the EDC, I never leave home without a pair of Sony earbuds (£9), if I find myself stranded waiting for the bus a little music helps drown out the chavs..!

I can relate to that  screaming kids in the supermarkets have me reaching for my earphones often enough, the penknife looks favorite, the lighter, for candles, incense etc doesn't have to be about my person but I made the conscious decision to make it so, after the everyday items which can be used in self defense thread, the reflex to back off when being burnt I figure as the more "measured response "
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

Mine are mini sewing kit, hand cream, hand gel, sweeteners, coins, phone, headphones, Zen, pills for all sorts in an old plastic plaster box, feminine bits, tissues in packets, handful of boiled sweets, water pouch that clips on via carabena clip.

Edit: dental floss, pen, small notepad and tbh lots more but off the top of my head these are what spring to mind.

I don't have a No12 Opinel but have one or more of the rest, great knives but not EDC for me.

My typical personal EDC is £100 cash (ironed flat, folded and ironed again), credit card(s), debit card and
http://www.alloutdoor.co.uk/knives-mult ... Au5U8P8HAQ shop around for prices and memory size, house keys and a small button torch.

I honestly don't see the point of loading yourself down with stuff that in reality you'll never need. If a situation starts to develop and I believe it could be problematic then I'd reassess my EDC kit.

With that, its very warm and a G&T is calling me :)

I did expect to see leatherman type things pop up more frequently, I've always found something I wanted more but I do want one, (deciding which one could be an issue then  ) Being a carer I don't go out that much, when I do I have a bum bag full of tricks and tools, indoors I'm more often than not in track suit bottoms or shorts, no belt, anything much more than a bunch of keys and a SAK would have either around my ankles half the time
