That's just a general recommendation, although I have been told personally by my GP to drink 2 litres on a normal day, and to step it up to 3 if I'm out running or whatever.

Most days I probably drink around 1.5/2 litres...

There is no need to drink a lot as we get water in our food as well.
I don't have a particular link, but the breakdown of workings out on the figures I gave assumes;

4.5 litres a day - Assuming cold climate and low activity, 1.5 litres consumption and 3 litres on average per day for hygiene

6 litres a day - Assuming warm climate and/or high activity, 3 litres consumption and 3 litres on average per day for hygiene

You don't get much water at all from food, and that's entirely dependent on what you're eating. If you're sat behind your front door eating baked beans and cradling a shotgun you'll be dehydrating from all the sodium.
If you're spending 3 meals a day eating fresh salad and vegetables you may get something like 25% out of it.

Based on usual figures and the medical advice to drink 3 litres a day, anyway.

Depending on your sex and activity level a NHS guideline is here:

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

I know about 1.5-2 litres. But not 3.

There isn't any particular guidance, I use 3 litres a day as a rule of thumb for someone undertaking either rigorous exercise or in a particularly warm climate due to losses through sweat.
1.5 litres is based on a "normal" person, so intake is going to go up based on activity and heat conditions. I know I can empty a 3 litre camelback in a day of trudging in warm weather for starters.

It's not possible to be specific on an intake figure because it depends on the individual person, how fit they are, how hot it is, how intense what they're doing is, how long they're doing it for and how much/often they're resting. But rule of thumb for "high" intake under usual circumstances is 3 litres.

If you want a specific table, I can give you the below but it depends on weight and fitness too;
