Meyou, you'll need to get yourself a spangly new trailer for all your clobber - and your compadres!Meyou wrote:BOL only. Re: Retreats on the cheap?
We've been considering trailers actually! It would greatly increase our carrying capacity...although would cause a slight loss of off-road capability due to decreased departure angle...unless I get a fancy-pants removable bar...itsybitsy wrote:Meyou, you'll need to get yourself a spangly new trailer for all your clobber - and your compadres!Meyou wrote:BOL only. I have no idea what any of that means but it sounds very impressive!Meyou wrote: We've been considering trailers actually! Fixed tow bar would dig into the ground every five seconds...

Re: Retreats on the cheap?
I suppose I should use laymans terms a bit more often...
But it is a bit of a concern for me, as at present my main bug out routes consist of a fair bit of field/bushwhacking. I've done a test run or two (At night, when nobody is around) and my BOV can handle it on its own, even with a full load...not sure how it'll run dragging a trailer though.

Re: Retreats on the cheap?
How about using a nato hitch, might need a bit of adaption to the vehicle to get it positioned right though, a sankey attached should do the job of minimising the angle of attack

Re: Retreats on the cheap?
Nato hitch...I reckon that would work, although would require cutting a hole in my plastic bumper to get at the chassis. Or getting a whole new bumper and attaching it direct...

Re: Retreats on the cheap?
Could you fit it using some long bolts through the bumper into the chassis, just a coule of bolt holes to drill through the bumper
