Hello all - I'm new!

Post by Snowman »

Prepping? Isn't that something they go overboard about in the US and then make TV programmes about people overreacting to ridiculous scenarios for everyone else to guffaw at?
Yep - I was one of those laughing!

After a complete change in lifestyle and location I have changed my mind.
My wife and I are both ex UK Mil and have now moved into the 'back of beyond' way up north. Someone bought me 'How to Survive TEOTWAWKI' and that changed my mind ... slowly.

We decided that starting to plan was NOT wierd; but a crucial part of the process to allow us to adapt to a very changing world which we were no longer sure about its stability. Therefore we have come here to learn, not just about what seems logical but also the other areas that we hadn't considered - ability to repair, alternate energy solutions and simple self sufficiency.

Therefore - thank you for allowing us to join a group of like minded 'careful' individuals and hopefully share some ideas.

Welcome. Have a look around. Lots of knowledge and experience here.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Thank you Jansman.
I intend to run some ideas through the group just to 'sanity check' some of them.
I expect to be taught some rudimentary lessons which I hadn't thought of.

Hi and welcome, its good to see so many more people out there actually realising there is a good reason to be aware rather than just think we're all :tinfoil when in fact were all 8-) and taking responsibility for ourselves. Alas 99% of my family are still at the laughing stage...

Definitely nothing crazy about planning for the worst...although opinion does vary on what that "worst" is likely to be!
Welcome to the forum though :)
