Creating a place to retreat

Hi, just an update, has been a long time.


had a lot going on, toilet solutions work a treat, just a few minor adjustments and that is good to go. Got 2 water butts to collect store water, thinking of creating a pipe system that allows me to get water inside, so its even more discreet and store the water indoors.

Looking into sleeping arrangements, had a cheap sleeping bag, looking to get a fold away camping bed, (if anyone has seen a decent one and can recommend one that would be great)

Eating and and food has been okay too, got a portable gas stove with gas cans. Looking to get a wood burning stove soon (need to save up a bit more) also that is good for heating the place, I have only been down there on a warm day so this winter will be interesting.

Looking at storage boxes at the moment, to store all my preps there, got the shelves done and boarding up the walls. Slowly but surly it is getting there, not been easy but getting there. Any tips and advice welcome from all.

Is anyone else working or has a secret retreat? If so, anything I have missed out or should consider, please do share.

For folding beds maybe check out fishing bed chairs. We have a pair that are very comfy as chairs and beds.

Sorry won't be posting and pictures just yet. Will do soon. Once I have my 2nd stage complete, I will be more then happy to share with everyone. At the moment it's a bit here and there in terms of ready. Hoping to be done early September or so.

My only thing I got got it my wardrobe which my gear is stored , not as bad as it sounds lol will try to post some pics but all the pics I take on my s4 are to large to upload.

Hi everyone,

been a while since I have posted, been a hectic few months with work and home. Will hopefully have some exciting updates soon, will be taking some time off soon to get back up to date and re stock supplies etc. Weather is not really helping at the moment though. So fingers crossed it starts to clear up soon

Depending on the height of the room you could put in a false floor which would serve several purposes. Insulation from the cold concrete floor, storage for food supplies and a good way of hiding any wiring you may need to do. Also the more you store under the floor the more space you have on your shelves or maybe have less shelves and more living space. If you could make it work you could buy the Frontier Stove on Amazon. You can cook on it and there is also a water heater that you can buy as an add on. Looks a great job though.
