Indeedy! Although most have either gone into the ol' stockpile or been distributed amongst family. Will be making regular runs to Tesco, just to take advantage of any silly bargains they may have...

Oooh, also, got me a first aid kit of Amazon for my EDC ^^

Picked up seeds (Sprouts, Swede, Runner Beans) which is the last of what I plan to grow this year. Also 8 x 2L bottles of water from lidl for £2.00. Pretty much run out of space to store any more water now so what I have will have to do which is about 60L bottled ready for drinking plus 2 waterbutts that can get put through the Berkey.

Topped up on sugar when I found Tate & Lyle on offer 3 for 2. I find ordinary granulated is fine for jam as long as it's cane sugar. Sugar from sugar beet sometimes seems reluctant to set.

Started making apple cider vinegar by covering apple cores with water (made apple pie for pudding yesterday) Apparently that's all you need to do. Suspect it wouldn't be 5% strength so couldn't use it for chutneys but good for cleaning

This evening, I decanted all my bagged flours into plastic tubs, which made me realise I have to stop pinching my plastic tubs for work (I store chemicals in them so can`t reuse them for food  )
but discovered `lurkers` in my pantry such as ground rice and pinto beans and split red lentils.
Laid out some foodstuffs for cooking tomorrow...two rabbits, some root veg and stock for making rabbit stew, this`ll be the first time I`ve made it in the pressure cooker though so if ye don`t hear from me you`ll know I blew the damn thing up!  :D
And stewed cooking apple from the freezer to make apple crumble and custard plus lemons and butter (traded for bunny pelts) to make lemon curd. :)

And now I`m knackered, lol...

Been working in the garden, the last few weeks. Built more raised beds. Grown all seedlings from seeds, things going well at the moment for these. I've planted peas and potatoes at the moment, still finding potatoes from last years crop.

I've planted Red Currant, Blackberry and Raspberry bushes, It'll be a few years before these start producing! Better late, than never!

I've also started to grow Carrots, Parsnips, Brocolli, Sprouts, Peppers and Tomatoes, all from seed.

What I've started to do this year, is write everything down in a week by week diary. eg: When I planted the seeds, what type of compost, how often I feed etc. In a SHTF situation, this could be good information.

Added more water and food to my supplies!

That's a good idea re the diary - I always think I'll remember where is what, but I never do. I've got my tomatoes going well but I keep them indoors on the windowsills. Got a few kinds inc some Latah - arctic type so will see how that one does. Too early to go with anything outside yet, will wait till mid April. But got the beds all forked over ready. Want try leeks, onion sets, and tatties.
Got a load more tinned ham, flour, and 5 jars peach & apricot jam

I have been busy making beds in the garden and sieving all the soil. I'm inspired by the diary too. Must start one so I can remember my mistakes next year.

I have also planted a load of seeds, bought a mini 4 shelf greenhouse thingy for them. Big investment this week was a wheelbarrow. Should make things go quicker. And sorted out my cupboards and put up more shelves ready for a tesco shop.
