Hi from the North East

Post by PaganPrepper »

Hi,

I'm paganprepper and new to prepping, although I'm a keen camper and what not! I'm assembled a decent BOB and INCH kits although plan to bug in (we own the house so can make suitable plans). I'm just starting to create a food rotation system and stockpile canned goods, as well as building a hydropoinics system for some fruits and veg. My mrs is even on board after spending a lot of time taking the p1$$ a lot

I'm looking forward to learning a lot more about prepping and of course meeting, albeit virtually! all you like minded folks!

Best regards

PP

thanks for the welcome guys!

I've found designing my stock rotation, supply list and the such quite therapeutic in a way! and weirdly enjoyable!! some parts I'll be looking for info on is securing my home (doors, windows) etc should the need arise! well besides 2 German sheps ;)

Welcome to the site buddy, sounds like your doing pretty good already.

Don't forget to prep for the dogs if your planning on keeping them as security. (Dog food, biscuits etc)

thanks xplosive.

well GSD number two isn't here yet we're goign through the adoption process so wont be too long :D, but I feed BARF diet so if the time comes then he'll have some digestive upsets when switching to wet / dry food (it sends him really hyper and a few allergy issues so that will be interesting!) longer term if things do go "Tango Uniform" then hunting squirrel / wood pidgeon / fishing and our canned veg with some rice will do them both very well :) - tbh it's not an end of world scenario we're prepping for but rather long term security / weather changes and food shortages, plus being self sufficient is pretty interesting in itself! - better quality food's grown without pesticides etc, anyway! we're stocking up on plenty of his fave treats and spare's of his fave toys too! they'll be better catered for than the humans! lol

have you thought much about home security? I've thought about "natural" defences ie thorny bushes and nettles - we're on the outside of a small cul-de-sac facing onto the main road so security isn't brilliant, as the 6ft fence could be easily scaled / knocked down so pondering how I can reinforce this too. I've thought about nice thorny bushes, probably blackberry / raspberries around the top of the fence and then having barbed wire ready just in case.

thanks Tigs, just had a look at your site but says about a DDos, what hosting company are you with as there are ways to detect flooding requests and ban ip addresses if you have root access to your server?
