Prepping and Bitcoin
I am an avid prepper and Bitcoin miner. I often find myself with more digital cash than paper money and was wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to use some of my hard mined Bitcoins to buy camping gear? I am also ready to ditch my Mora and am in the market for a proper bushcraft knife. Anyone know of any UK knife makers that might be up for accepting Bitcoin?

A mora is a proper bushcraft knife. If you don't want it, I'll have it.
Re: Prepping and Bitcoin
Can't help the original question sorry. I will admit to not really understanding the whole bitcoin thing. Even a search didn't help me out https://www.libertariannews.org/2011/05 ... ry-of-man/ maybe someone will find it of some use. To be honest it seems to be just creating "wealth" on the internet , out of nothing if you like , the same way as fractional banking works. Well at least that's how it seems to me , could be I just don't grasp the whole idea.
What I do grasp , however , is that if there are very limited places to use the bitcoins then as a currency it is limited too.

Re: Prepping and Bitcoin
I'm a bit puzzled with this one. As a prepper surely you would realise that if there was a sudden shtf situation like a major power loss then all this digital money you have is worthless. Even the 'real' money you have in the bank will become nonexistent as you will not have access to it. My advice? Invest it in your preps while you still can and keep some paper money under your mattress!HackneyPrepper wrote:I am an avid prepper and Bitcoin miner. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Once the SHTF thousands of other people are gonna want the same as you. What do you think your chances are of getting it?.......

Agreed with the problems of digital money . It seems to me though that HP is asking where he can convert his bitcoins into real physical preps.
Re: Prepping and Bitcoin
I thought that was the problem? You have to go all about the houses transferring the "currency" into all manners of other "currencies" (including maybe Second Life Lindens and MtGox) prior to getting it in cash. Once its cash you can do what you want with it
