Disrupt travel, services etc.
So from a preppers point of view how do we prep? What are your plans?
Good question, I think we carry on just as we are and prep.
There was a pseudo documentary a few years back about how the country came to a standstill after an unfortunate set of circumstances made travel virtually impossible. It's got it's flaws but I think it's worth watching if you get time.

True, we may see incidents. It will not stop us though, *I* personally believe that.
The IRA and the INLA didn't want to see the complete destruction of Britain (even Hitler wanted to invade not destroy), they could have if they wanted to though. No bombs, no bullets no fighting. The complexity of our society is our greatest strength and weakness.
I'm with Jansman on this, if you seriously think that these Jihadi's can 'Destroy' the UK, then you have low opinion of the resolve and determination of the British People.
They "may" attack and disrupt daily life; they may kill and injury 100's of people but they will never destroy the country or the British people. But even much of this is I think highly unlikely and any IS Attacks in the UK or likely to be relatively minor, I think they are more likely to pursue the kidnap and execution approach as it is safer for them as it generates huge shock and disgust around the world.
And with regards Jihadi's returning to the UK, well I guess some will be killed in Syria; some will stay there and not come back; some will be detained by the security services; and of those that do make it back, I really do believe that "most" (not all) will simply fall back into their former lives, glad of the safety and security they would have; the love of their friends and family and their comfortable western lifestyles/benefits!!
So ultimately the number of potential returnees determined to cause disruption and/or death is going to be very small.

I don't have a low opinion of the resolve and determination of the British people, just their ability to feed and water themselves from their own stocks of food for more than three days. I am not the only person who has this opinion, there's plenty on this forum who believe this also. That's why we(or some of us) prep.
Three days or nine meals away from social meltdown, if the trucks can't deliver the food to Tesco's we'll destroy ourselves.
The complexity of our society is our greatest strength and weakness, and no I don't need a tin foil hat.
I'm with Jansman too, and yet I would say that our peace loving Muslim fellow human beings need to (as they do seem to be as nations at the moment) do as much as they can to weed out and discourage the extremists and stop the radicalization of the simple minded members of our communities who fall for it.
This is a problem for the entire community, but the peaceful sensible Muslim community has to take the lead and not cry discrimination when the non Muslim folk are trying to figure out who the enemy is, no truly dangerous extremist would not stick out like a sore thumb to the moderates so they are key to stopping this nonsense.
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.
In my opinion common, the Jihadies are a nationless people bounding from one war against the oppressed brothers to the next. All religion orientated (again). Why don't the Saudis get involved? mmmmmmm
It makes good defence buisiness for the contractors and technological proving initiatives.
Keeps us all in a constant state of fear whilst other laws are passed - eg Ian Duncan Smiths new proposals on welfare and food vouchers
However.... am i worried, NO.
I'm more worried about my diesel and water getting contaminated.
Am I worried NO not a bit yes it's a concern these people are about at the end of the day we all prep for different reasons if and it's a big if they strike then I will deal with it till then I treat everything on the news with a pinch of salt as scaremongering. I have enough in my life to worry about bills health work etc I'll just wait and see I hope I'm ready to deal with what ever they throw at us
Not planning for the end of the world just to survive till normality resumes, while sticking to the scout moto be prepared!
Still considering do I want to survive the end of the world or deck chair on the front lawn with a cold beer?

Apples and Oranges imho.
If at first you don't succeed, excessive force is usually the answer.

This got me thinking about how many recruits and recruiters may actually be in the country as i believe the goverment would have no hope of finding out the true extent of the problem.
Could there be a sleeping army right under our noses??breeding an army in a country you want to attack is one hell of a
tactic, maybe im being paranoid but i think its worth thinking about.
A highly provocative first post from a new member. Mods, is there a troll-hunter among you?
Hi guys great posts lots of good views and opinions.I would like to say that although people seem to "think that the powers that be" would sort out any problems,i feel that our soldiers/police are tied up with so much red tape we would struggle to deal with a large scale uprising.I will use the London riots as an example, this was a large scale event organised very quickly and this is people who are not part of a group this was built up by locals and social media and the like. There was alot of damage, looting, fires ect.I feel our police struggled to deal with this because of our red tape society, any other country would have had rubber bullets water cannons instantly to deal with the riots, our police get prosecuted and put all over the papers for knocking someone over whilst under attack from projectiles ect. This cant be a good thing.Plus its only a matter of time before our boys are back on the ground in syria and iraq plus from Dave Camerons own mouth a whole generation of fighting in afgan still needed. With plans to cut our armed forces personell and budget were not going to have much personell left in our country to defend it.
Ive seen people say that maybe 1 in 10 muslims could be converted.the 2011 census says there are 2.7 million muslims in our country(that they know about)on that ratio thats 270,000 potential converts.
I must stress this is just a theroy and i do agree that the majority of muslims are peacefull people. But i do worry that the word minority hides the fact the the minority is a very large group of people.
Cheers guys
