Newby Lighthouse saying Hi Preppers

Post by lighthouse »

I guess I've been prepping for years but not in any defined way, I do have a broad skill-base, ex RAF, engineer, ocean yachmaster qualification not long ago and I am just setting up a blacksmith shop so I can make some things that are very costly or hard to get and so I will still be able to get them when the dust settles.
My bug out location is an island on the other side of the world. ;)

My word that *is* a broad skill base! Welcome to the forum :) what are you looking to explore in here, anything in particular? Good to have you on board (sorry, couldn't resist!).

Thanks for all the welcomes guys, I have joined the forum now because of the impending world pandemic, well that's how I see it, so I wanted access to your combined thoughts on what I shall need when I bug out.
Yeh I can make a list myself and I have but it's easy to overlook stuff and easy to over think things, I will be trolling through the mails and database for a while and when I get stuck I will call for help.
It is my personal belief that we have a situation coming, I think we have about three or four months to get ready, it may be less. It will be necessary to isolate ourselves one way or another and to be able to maintain ourselves for about a year until the Gov are no longer able to impose the travel restrictions then find a way out to cleaner parts.
My wife thinks I am totally off my head but my head needs to protect my family and I will do whatever is needed.
Thanks for the use of your vast combined knowledge.

I was explaining this to my son today!
(Though my wife is slowly coming on board - it's taken years)
