Confused & Frustrated

Post by Blue407 »

I rejoined here this week for obvious reasons.

However I am very confused and frustrated, why does every post I make have to be approved?
Why have some of them been denied for no obvious reason (I have posted a Hello)

And one that I made, which actually had some replies on NBC and army surplus gas masks, seems to have been deleted even though it was an active and allowed post!

Is this censorship, plain and simple, or in fact too many Admins applying different standards and not communicating between them?

I do not have unlimited time, if this site isn't going to be of use to me in discussing equipment and asking for help, I will have to go and find one that will :( That would be a shame as it used to be good and useful site.

Firstly, welcome back.

The reason your first 10 posts have to be approved is because, as you haven't been active for some time, you are classed as a new member and our rules are now such that all new members have to have their first 10 posts approved by a moderator. I cannot immediately answer the question as to why some of your posts have been disallowed, did you perhaps post some of them prior to giving us a quick 'hello' in the New Members section? If so, then your posts will have been disallowed as you hadn't posted an introduction. We are currently putting some changes in place on the forum to stop this happening. So please bare with us. :)

Hi

No, first thing I did was post in welcome.

I started an active topic on Army Surplus respirators and NBC this morning (After it was mistakenly disallowed yday and I had a discussion with an Admin). The topic was allowed this time and received a couple of responses by other members. I received a new notification e-mail about replies, went to have a look and the topic is now gone completely....

Can anybody please explain that? :( is that a non-allowed subject?

I can see it now, but it wasn't there a few minutes ago.

Also, I just received 8 e-mails all at once from this board, one stating that my NBC post (As you just linked above) was rejected....
So was it deleted and then restored?

I am even more confused now...

No, nothing has been deleted and then restored.

The topic was always there. You had a number of posts awaiting approval, which I have just gone in and approved. I rejected one because it was a duplicate post.

Blue, this is sounding like it might be a caching issue on your computer or internet connection. Try emptying your web browser's cache.

I can understand your suggestion, however when a link in an e-mail from this board does not work to get me to my topic and then I go and manually look for it by browsing the site, something else s going on. I don't necessarily mean big brother/conspiracy theories, but maybe website errors? Overloaded by so many new people on here?

BTW - I have tried that link again now, from the e-mail, and its now working. I have changed nothing this end.

If you can see it now that's the main thing.

 Oh, it's turning into that sort of forum is it ?

It's turned a bit chilly tonight so I'd rather keep my clothes on, if you don't mind. ;)
