Powdered Egg?

Post by littlejan »

Hi Everyone,

Wonder if you could help. I have quite a good storeroom stock for myself and my family but there is one ingredient that I would like to add to my rotational system and it is powdered egg. I can't find it anywhere in any of the supermarkets. Wondered if any of you have come across it or know of a substitute?

Many thanks in advance

Hi littlejan,

I did a quick search because I know we've discussed this before and found this

I wonder how different the fish food version is to the premium version? Could be a great way to stock up on protein!

I've seen this in sainsbos, down the baking isle, I will check next time I go.

Also, would this be a good item to store in a kilner jar with oxy absorbers to extend the life indefinitely?? Sorry I get carried away with storing dried goods in jars!!

When you buy your eggs you can coat them with mineral oil and they last for a year (maybe more) I keep my eggs for months without doing anything to them not even putting them into the fridge.

Here is a vid on how to dehydrate your eggs.

Here in the UK we dont wash our eggs so our eggs are less likely to be contaminated than those in the US
