Pandemic Checklist
Re: Pandemic Checklist
That list looks very American, the spelling, terminology and reference to N95 gives it away, never the less, still useful however I'd make some amendments to your list:
N95 may not be up to the job, sticking to American terminology, you will be better off with N100 masks, as I understand Ebola can fit through N95 - If I'm wrong, fair enough but better safe than sorry. (Source Canadian Prepper Site) UK equivalent being P3 standard
I would also add paracetemol (known as aceteminophen in the US), Ibuprofen (anti inflammatory) Naproxen (also an anti inflammatory, if you can source it, not knowing if you're in the US, I know Naproxen is available Over The Counter there but not so much in the UK) and codeine , the only one I know of in the UK that is available over the counter is called "paracodol"

Glad you said it!
There is far too much reliance on US information, without people actually thinking about what they are reading and preaching to others.
US information is fine, IF time is taken to review it and amend it for UK use. The number of times we see references to N95 (for example) just illustrates a fundamental lack of knowledge, but the problem is then that new members are then sent off in the wrong direction and the cycle continues.......
Re: Pandemic Checklist
I am in the UK, and yes - although the list is American I wouldn't discount it on that basis; It's very easy to buy N95 masks or their UK FPP2 equivalents on Amazon.
I realise that N95 is the minimum level of protection recommended for a pandemic, and in the example of Ebola it should probably be something even more heavy duty e.g. FPP3 or a Power Assisted Respirator.
Agreed on painkillers - you can buy Naproxen OTC in UK as Feminax.

Re: Pandemic Checklist
Maybe im missing the point but why would we need to start pooping in bags and not using/drinking tap water

Stark: "I have a plan; ATTACK!"
A man without at least one sharp pointy thing and the ability to start a fire is just a cold whining hairless ape

Re: Pandemic Checklist
I've got a small portaloo stored in the garage, left over from years of camping. Complete with the proper chemicals it would be very useful, could always empty it into strong bag and start again
Would be coming in the house if required.
Something like one of these:-

Personally, I think that's a lot better solution than pooping in a bag, they are not expensive and I haven't really seen them mentioned much on Prepper sites.

If you are not pooping in bags already then you are hardly entering into the spirit of things, call yourself a prepper, eh?IfInDoubt wrote:Maybe im missing the point but why would we need to start pooping in bags and not using/drinking tap water
I think it's a bit of way-forward thinking that the pandemic means the water will be shut off. In my view, I think we're a long way off from that and I'd be more concerned I had a stock of filtered water to drink than enough bags to poop in. I have a shovel as a backup. However, if one lives in a flat or house with no garden it would not be a bad idea to pre-warn family members that they'll be bag-pooping the moment the tap water goes off.

I hope it doesn't come to pooping in a bag... Will my OCD cope??!!
Although saying that, I do have a good supply of strong carrier bags/liners that will be perfect, a strong bucket to replace the actual loo and a 20ltr bag of cat litter, plus a pack or two of those disposable bed pads you can stick down, I used to use them when defrosting my old freezer and they're good. You can get similar for puppy training too but Boots sell them cheaper or get online.
