Do you think those kilner lids would fit on other jars or are they for your kilner jars?
I found a great cheap way to vacuum pack clothes and bedding (always found the real vacuum packs failed after a short time)
Get some normal rubbish sacks ( any cheap ones will do) put what you want to store inside it, then vacuum the air out and tie it as tight as you can. pop it into another bag and tie that tight as well. even if air gets into it it cannot swell back up as it has nowhere to grow, Works great! Those you buy go back to their normal size once air gets into them.

Just be aware once its stuck its err stuck it grips very strongly and is a one shot type thing when you apply it they advocate using a decorators roller to press it down i just laid a magazine over it and smoothed it down with my hand
put a square under my pillow last night at about 11pm it was still glowing slightly at 7am when i woke up

That's great stuff that Andy, could be quite handy when camping and waking up in the night scrambling around trying to find a torch or drink bottle in the dark. Would a strong LED torch activate that tape or is it a uv light kind of deal?

That's an idea I hadn't thought of!! If the screwbands fit on tight with the discs I dont see why not!

Got scented ones and needed stuff to be flat, I've used black bags before but can't get them flat enough

Ahh Right I just needed things to be smaller. these were like little round balls. A whole airing cupboard full of stuff went down to a few small balls on the bottom shelve

It charges from any light its a "health and safety product" designed for business/ industrial use it charges fine off natural light/ normal building lighting or a torch

i bought a UMAREX H&K MP5K 6mm bb Co2 Airsoft gun to try hunting with at my local Private forest. ( i have permission from the land owner. )
its shooting around about 430 - 500 Feet Per Second with the standard .2g airsoft bb. i have ordered some Steel bb's to see what it shoots at with them, they are .6g i believe. i got the gun for £67 and spent another £20 on co2 cartriges and some extra mags to qualify for free shipping. i can provide the link should anybody require it.
i have also ordered a second bottle of the fire dragon gel, that stuff is great! & have a new BOL underway.. Pics to follow soon. other things i have done are stock up on water and tinned food.
