Is it a matter of just filter or mask as well?

If the mask was not stored in good conditions (it should not have access to air) then in time robber get cracks and may brake when you'll try to stretch it or just won't be very tight around your head. Every filter has expiry date ( If I remember right it is 3 years).
Gas mask is probably one of the most important piece of kit as if you'll get to the point that you have to use it then your life will depend on it (not if you use it to clean a toilet). Try to explain your wife that in shtf scenario she'll have to use 50 years old gas mask and outdated filter. I know what mine would say...

A new set with just the three stones (120, 280 and 600) costs about £30 on Ebay, this one has the Sapphire ultra fine as well (roughly £15 extra)....... Make me a sensible offer

Is that a Kukri or a Kukri Machete? What is the edge like on it? Does the tang run the full length of the handle?

I'm thinking about what I can let go ATM, possibly a Gilpin axe (the one in my Re-hanging thread) and maybe some other cutting tools
