Thankfully things are now starting to pick back up and im now self employed and business is picking up well. so nows the time to restock the preps and get back to readynessi think after food restock then lighting and fuel is on the agenda.

anyway thought id say hi and im back!!
Well done.Yours is a situation we can all be in. And probably the best reason for anyone to prep. We have been there(albeit for a shorter time than yourself) and a close family member too, and those food preps were invaluable. It just takes the pressure off a crap situation. Let's be honest, when your income stops you are in a real-life survival situation aren't you ?
I like your idea about building up money preps too. Great idea. I had a serious accident some years ago when the family was young. My Wife did not work then, and the money stopped for two months. We coped, but I vowed we would not be that vulnerable again.
The very best of luck to you as you rebuild your preps.

The 'purple milk' (meths) bottle started life as an enema bottle (never used for the purpose), the long spout is ideal for pouring meths when priming stoves or lanterns.

I thought thats what you had it for, I was just mistaken which end it was designed to be applied to

Can I ask what meals you created from your preps, I've got a niggling worry that although I've got pleanty of the basics when it comes to making a meal I may be missing something obvious.

Lots of tinned meals, the batcholers dried pasta dishes and lots of rice style meals including doing my own special fried rice that came out lovely.

It was a nice safety net and the fact it has changed the way the mrs also thinks of food stocking was a really nice addition
