Mylar survival blankets & food storage.

I didn't know which section to put this in but here goes.

Could you use Mylar survival blankets (which are very cheap) cut up as Mylar food bags ?

Would the quality be ok, is it the same material ? would it be worth doing ? would they last ?
as you can guess i have very little knowledge concerning Mylar bagging, so any answers would be most helpful.

I sussed this one last night, apparently not, you can not use Mylar blankets for food storage bags, reason being that they are not plastic lined, therefore will not seal... shame
