on a positive note, our new home has far more land for growing food, plus shed and greenhouse space, making me a happy little prepper. :D

Waiting on a British Army Issue Sleeping Bag Liner. Used my eBay Nectar points to cover the cost so it's essentially a freebie :P

I picked up a lightweight packable liner from Trespass but it doesn't seem to be too big. I'm 5' 5" and barely fit into it so hopefully an ex-army one will be a bit better.

My sleep system now consists of:

Belgian Army Bivvy Bag
Blacks Quad 2 Sleeping Bag
British Army Issue sleeping bag liner
StormShield self-inflating mat

Definitely no more spending now until after Christmas.

Popped into sainsburys and picked up 4 jars of duck fat, expires 2016, only popped in for cheese and chives though :?

I did have chives growing in a pot in the kitchen, the mogsplosh took a liking to them unfortunately so when he wasn't eating them he was trying to make a bed in them, who knew cats loved chives...

I grew catnip for my cats ... they never touched it, headed immediately for the curly-leafed parsley!

Please be careful with chives around your cat. All members of the onion family, including chives, are dangerous to cats. If eaten they can cause a condition called Heinz body anaemia. The leaves are usually less toxic than the bulbs but still contain the substance that can cause the anaemia.

Since getting my 2 cats I always check before I get any new plants, a surprising number of human-safe plants are toxic to them!

Thanks for letting me know this, I had no idea :o it was binned last week after he destroyed it, in fact he's destroyed every plant we've ever had... we got him a special cat grass growing kit that took ages to grow and he ignored it!

No problem Decaff. Something else I've learned since having cats... It is the cats prerogative to ignore any item bought specifically for them  .
