The stanley knife blades are rubbish, most of the tools are made of cheese pretending to be metal. They are ok for stuff to use once and throw away but not for anything own brand that you might be depending on.

Every time I swing by poundland I pick up a few packs of ibuprofen or paracetamol. I have a boxful now - good for trading post-SHTF.

How long do they last? Expiration dates on meds are there for a good reason.

very few meds are toxic after the date on the box , any that are part of the `cillin` family are and better off as fresh as you can get them from a doc . the others tend to just loose their effectiveness

Saucepans from 99p Stores are really not up to much. Pretty chemically and sometimes give off black smoke when you use gas flames on them. Their frying pans buckle under heat. However their utensils (slotted spoons and ladles etc) are usually ok.

Lighters, plastic microwaveables and the like are brilliant.

Tin foil dishes with lids are fine, the turkey foil is thicker than the every day foil, paper plates, cups, napkins all fine, sachets of coffee with whitener in are OK too.

Anything consumable is good plastic cutlery, paper plates etc,

I stock up on batteries (Kodak), paracetemol/ibuprophen, general 1st aid, disinfectant, tinned food sometimes.

Some camping gear is ok, the metal water bottles, compass, whistles etc.

Definitely avoid anything electrical like radios, cables, solar charger, although they did have a pretty good wind up lantern for a while.
