Greetings from Wales

Post by Bongo »

Ive been trying to get prepared my whole life, you should see my kitchen, lol, no seriously i threw out the cooker about a year ago and moved over to cooking on waste wood in its entirety. Slowly trying now to get more heat capture into a water based central heating system. Even when shtf i want to be warm....It was only a couple of years back we had a couple of minus 17 outside and it hit minus 14 inside the kitchen.
So whilst trying to get all that sorted out im also working with some metalworking and wood working and recycyling this into that. Im a builder of portable rocket stoves, just got another finished, it runs on next to nothing in terms of timber and gets very hot, super efficient stoves.
Ive been thinking about long term food storage so im guessing this is going to be a good place to get some current and decent info on.
Looking forward to making a contribution and taking away some knowledge.

Hello Bongo, welcome to the forum. Great to hear that you're cooking on waste wood now.

What's your insulation like? If your kitchen got down to minus 14, thats a bit nippy!
