Jolly good read. Based on Peak Oil crisis. Although fiction it raises some good issues regarding the collapse of 'normal' society.

Got it and Afterlight, did not enjoy them at all, did not enjoy the story line or the writing style.

enjoyed it very much, which is unusual for me as i don't like fiction much, but i thought the sub plot with the hitman was unneccessary.

I enjoyed the first one, second one not so much...too many coincidences throughout the story.

Still not a patch on Paitriots! :)

I thought it was really good but like BP, the side story with the hitman was probably not needed - I just loved reading the scenario and its fallout develop..

I actually loved this book!

I think the best bit to take from it is the vulnerability of our social status to just flat line, and the way a 'gang culture' runs the streets!

Read the first one which was great, i also agree that the hit man part of the plot was unneccessary. Just started on the second book.

Scarrow had the group dynamic down to a tee.He understands gang culture.watch any crisis(American tornado season?)and the shelves are stripped.I found the chapter that dealt with the supermarket 'stock-up'to be very enlightening.During the 2000 fuel blockade I saw panic in our shops when the Daily Mail said there could be food shortages.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
