Great little BOB/GO bag I bought my wife

Post by Wulfshead »

Just totally blown away by this bag.
I bought the black one as part of my wife's birthday present and was so impressed with it I bought myself one in olive green.
For the price I was over the moon by the construction and stitching.
It has more chest and waist straps than one would expect for a bag this price.

As I can't drive anymore the wife is doing her car test thing so until then we use public transport or walk.
The wife wears a pack if we pop into London or Colchester but does not like the tactical packs for non emergency outings.
What led me to buy her one of these packs is that the secondary pouches/bags can be removed and then her black bag blends in with the multitude of other peoples backpacks.
The other thing that attracted me was the more than ample amount of extra pouch/bag/kit molle type attachment points which could make this bags carrying capability go up to around 80 LT in my opinion.

When my son and I checked out the bag when it arrived we could not believe how big it was and the potential it has as standard or further added to.
He is waiting for a 95 DPM version before he orders one.
I am thinking I'll semi-retire my own 60Lt BOB and use my own 50Lt olive green one when it arrives, I have spare pouches to customise my own to suit.

The wife's one.

Ive seen these on Ebay, when you think how much you can pay for the Snugpac responce pac which is basicaly the bit that detaches from the bottom front, they are really great value. And in loads of different colours. ;)

Looks like a great bargain, however just be careful with the quality issue on these Chinese bags, very hit and miss, a key indicator is the ability fully cinch the buckles without them snapping and the general robustness of the zippers/zip pulls, hopefully you've got a decent one and it will last you years, bur hey at that price worst case you end up with a response pack and two Molle pouches anyway. Good find

Tanstaafl,
Mine arrived today so I was awoken with my morning coffee, meds and a parcel.
I have to say that I am a short guy (5 ft 7 inches) but years as a bricky has left me quite stocky.
There is plenty of adjustment on the shoulder straps and a good amount of adjustment on the waist belt and upper belt which pulls the shoulder strap tighter on the upper body. I was pleased to see that upper strap as I cant stand a pack when the shoulder straps start to wander.
The zipps are nylon but they seem robust enough and are not the small kind.
I'll give this pack a good field test in May when we are off to a folk camp for a 3 dayer so will better see how it performs.
Right out the bag I am liking what I'm seeing though.

Looks like a nice piece of kit. I like the side and rear pouches.
Has any one walked for any period of time with this on their back?
A decent review with pictures would be good.

This does look the mutts - any pictures of one in real life? I mistakenly bought one that looks like this for about £12 on eBay - the image was identical the the Mil-Tec ones. But when it arrived it was smaller than expected - no way 25L in my opinion, it was about the size of a A4 ring binder. Really flimsy with terrible traps that could no way fit on a grown up.

They gave me a 50% refund and so I gave it to my lad to make his go bag out of.

Don't want to make the same mistake again - I was thinking of getting an expensive one to make sure that what I get won't fail me when I really need it. But of course, if this will do the job then I'll have it! I'm a sucker for a bargain.

I have worn it out a few times with it quite full, the last outing was with the local radio club.
It is really comfy and seems to let you pack and pack before it is full.
I'm out again this weekend so will try to get a mate to take a picture of it on my back, speaking of which, I have a knackered back and I can cover a decent distance without any undue discomfort.
At 50 Lt I think I'd grab this over my 60Lt bag any day.
I am thinking of mounting the lower bag up higher on the molle system and adding some extra pouches ready to go when it's not being used for radio society outings.
I really, really like this bag.

Thats the problem I had dangerman, looked great in the pic but when it came it was tiny like yours, tried a couple of different ones and they were all the same, in the end I bit the bullet and bought a 5.11 Rush 24 and cant fault it, looks like it will last a lifetime, myriads of pockets etc, just a class bit of kit, used daily for the last few years, perfect EDC..............even tho it looks like Wulfshead got a bargain with his I would recommend anyone to buy one of these, £85+ I know but will last many years going by how mine is going :D
