Grenfell you did nothing to apologise for.

Personally I use Morrison own brand skimmed manly in hot drinks also great in cakes etc. Comes in air tight bag that is not so big to spoil once opened. Live on a boat so sorta go used to the taste...

Ah I see. I can drink it but I know some who reckon that UHT doesn't stand for ultra high temperature but rather stands for Ultra Horrible Taste :D

I prefer not to use nestle just as I prefer free range eggs . There are several other things I could add but I'll defer to itsy's wish and leave it.
Oh and yes unsure was right I was referring to bartering or even in the early stages buying with cash in the knowledge that cash probably won't leave the shop keepers pocket or at least not to a faceless corporation .

Back on topic , as tansaffl says powdered milk can be good past the date. I had a jar that was well out of date ( a couple of years to be honest  ) which I used a while ago. Still edible although it didn't seem to colour the tea as much as one would think and it seemed to separate a bit more easily .
I was referring to Rik_uk when I asked him to leave it, as he had a bad habit of homing in on an individual and then haranguing them constantly, and I could see where the conversation was headed.

We used to have camping holidays using 5 pints milk powder in the 80's.
Not sure if its still going, but I don't remember any of us kids moaning at it,or the adults.
Personally,I like oat milk (just to be fussy) but I'll pretty much get on with most stuff if needs be,except soya milk.Bleurgh...
