Washing my 5.11 backpack!

Post by Pointboy »

Hey guys and gals. I have a 5.11 rush 12 backpack that it getting pretty dirty and grimmey and I'm wondering if anyone here knows if you can machine wash them and tumble dry them? As I will need the backpack for tomorrow. I want to be able to clean it and get it dried and ready as quick as possible. If anyone knows how to quickly clean the thing it will be great appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

Empty it.

Do all the zips, clips and buckles up.

Wash with a pre-wash (or soak manually) and a low-temperature main wash.

Dry on "Special" or "Footwear" setting.

Wash it and dry it by itself.

What would constitute as a pre-wash? Just soap and water or?

There's a pre-wash setting on our machine and a separate compartment for the extra soap. Don't know about yours though.

Do not machine wash the back pack or tumble dry it on any settings

From 5.11
Hand wash only
Dry naturally with no forced heat
Do not use fabric conditioner

That's what happens with the expensive stuff : ) I've put my old wynnster through the cycle a few times now, it gets full of sweat from my daily runs very quickly.

if I was you I'd apply some sort of Nikwax product to it as you have almost certainly removed all water resistant properties from the fabric. I would hate for any of your gear to get ruined if you had overlooked this...
