A great thread. I myself am on a lot of meds, I have complex pain syndrome, which is a lot of pain killers per day, I myself have tried to cut down on days when I can which is not easy and I don't recommend IT im not your doc. But saying that I have managed over time to aquire a good stash.
Now the hardest one, I suffer with bipolar and need my meds so it's difficult to get more than you are allowed. But online you can get herbal/natural doses which are not as much but can help if it's bad.
Many people wonder how i will cope with the sanario off appocalypse but as others of you may feel the same that the society of today is what we would like to escape from.
But I do have many other skills in my forte.
Thanks for reading.
any of you on prescribed meds?
Re: any of you on prescribed meds?
I would strongly disuade anyone from ordering medication online; you just don't know how genuine these sites are.
I have managed to stockpile a years worth of one of my medications, the other has been more problematic due to pressures of work and uni. I always mean to stash away the last box but I find I'm rota'd on or there is another assignment and bang - I'm half way through the box I was saving.
It is good to hear that some of you have herbal remedies but I would be aware if you havent tried certain herbal remedies before that just because it's herbal doesn't always mean it is harmless and certain herbal remedies can have contraindications with certain POMs. Any Doctor will be able to advise you as regards this.
As far as I know there are no herbal remedies to control my chronic condition so I'm just glad I'm very well controlled and continue to stockpile and try and become more organised with the other drug when reordering repeats.

Plan for the worst......but enjoy every minute of it.

Re: any of you on prescribed meds?
I've just caught up with this thread.
In my strictly non medical background opinion I'm going to back up what others have said,
please do not buy drugs from the internet. Just watch an episode of watchdog when they cover the topic and that should be enough to put you off
Also, be VERY careful with herbal remedies, just because you can buy them in a health food shop does not mean they are harmless and will only do you good. Herbal remedies can have powerful effects on the system, particularly if they conflict with any medication you are taking. H&B have a folder in store which can help to advise on what NOT to take if you suffer from certain conditions or are taking certain medicines. It is an area of specialisation that used to take years to train in and become competent at. Now it's all freely available please don't assume it can't do any harm. Having said which, herbal supplements can be hugely beneficial . I would just urge you to get good advice before taking them
Here endeth the lesson................

Re: any of you on prescribed meds?
Problem has been (sort of) solved... My GP now says as I've been on the same meds for 2 years, same dosage with no problems I can get 2 months supply at a time
Lets just hope when SHTF its when I've just refilled my script or I will have to dust off the X-Bow

Re: any of you on prescribed meds?
Neither my better half or myself are on any meds. Unfortunately the little on is on quite a list of prescription meds and they are very reliant on taking them.
We have slowly been ordering them earlier to gradually build a small surplus but some of them are special order and have a limited shelf life.
In the event of TSHTF even raiding a large pharmacists mightn't be enough, we would need to head to the supplier / distributor.

Yes I am on meds for Asthma.
Re: any of you on prescribed meds?
Ive just caught up with this thread and it does make you think about what to do if the SHTF and you cant get hold of any future tablets for a while. I often forget my repeat prescription when its due, so I then split my cholesterol tablet in half, I cant do this with others as theyre too small. I like the idea of ordering a little in front of time its due, if I can remember I will try to do this in the future. I am in front with my pain killers for my back, as I don't always like taking them, they make me feel drowsy etc.. Amitriptlyne. I also take blood pressure tablets for high bp, and Simvastatin, for cholesterol. Also take a thyroid tablet, for under active thyroid. Im having to have another blood test to check for diabetes, im hoping it comes back oky when I go have it done. I don't know how my body would react if I went long term with out tablets, ive sometimes missed a few days and been okay, although I know I shouldn't do this.
