Aquaponics

Post by Arzosah »

I'm reading through MrMoneyMustache at the moment - he's very, um, perky, he's about Financial Independence, though there's actually quite a lot of crossover between some of what we do, and some of what he does. This post, for instance: he discovered aquaponics last summer, spent time researching and getting to know some aquaponics people called Frosty Fish  , and this guest post was one of the results: http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2014/10/20/aquaponics/

There's an aquaponics design firm mentioned in the next, and also a code to use at the firm - on the completed order form you'll get a 19 page pdf document, full of really detailed work, absolutely free. The website itself also has a blog that seems to have lots of interesting practical articles and there's this one too, about realising he's a prepper: https://www.frostyfish.com/2014/10/14/a ... e-prepper/

Enjoy :)

Yeah very cool. The American preppers have really imbraced Aquaponics, and have a lot of good cheap home brew ways of doing it. The only issue with it in the UK is with water meters and electricity prices, you have to be mindful of water usage. Using rain water really solves some problems and the price of a 12v solar system to run a pump has dropped massively.
