I think its more a question of being willing to act when the flames are licking my arse, but still, like with all humans, I'd rather the flames never came near :)

3 X 24h periods without nicotine over. Haven't eaten so much in a long time.

On another note, kale when juiced by itself in the cheap auger manual juicer can taste like dried out bladderwrack seaweed smell on a dry and dusty sand dune. With a flavour that rank, it's got to be good for something......

The compost heap?

I use supermarket baskets too. I find they are more space efficient than shelves in odd shaped spaces.

The baskets I use are milk baskets for plastic cartons, they stack well and are very sturdy for the weight of the tins, but yes supermarket baskets are good, and easy to obtain...

This week I've added to my food preps, which is trickier than it sounds with a four day weekend and an OH who won't stop troughing! Also hit 4 stone off and well on the way to being joint pain free.

Thank you everyone for your advice about running, however this is something I really want to do, or at least try to do! From experience my knee injury is something that gives me little to no trouble when I'm lighter, and I want to gradually build up my endurance and build up my quads by cycling to support the knee. Plus, ya know, running could be useful in the zombie apocalypse :D - survival rule #1- cardio!

well done OCD on hitting the 4 stone mark, that's brilliant, keep it up! Sounds like youre doing great... I think I need to get some weight off too, mind you if the Zombies were chasing me I definitely would be running, :D

Thank you! It sounds really smug but I'm quietly enjoying losing weight while the other women around me at work gain it, I haven't got to be the fastest runner, just got to outrun them! (I have had several nightmares about being stuck at work during a zombie apocalypse. Need to stop watching The Walking Dead late at night!)

All I've done this week is got some veg seeds in to propagate and got some seedlings out, growing bags for the chitting potatoes should arrive soon.

All prepping activities have been garden related this week, the polytunnel is beginning to look like it should and the greenhouse isn't far off. Fingers crossed for a good harvest

Well I'm done with just sitting back and reading about prepping and I'm now actually starting to do stuff. This week I've been working on the allotment (still new at growing so starting small). I've also started taking inventory of what I actually have and getting an idea of what my priorities should be.

Food stores are a must but need to come up with a plan for storage as I have limited space.

Water is sorted for the short term (large water butt and a way to filter and boil it easily, plus big lake 5min walk away).

Defensive is a bit lacking but working on that.

Medical is well sorted and probably over prepped if there is such a thing :D

I have loads of books and a variety of equipment but I need to break it down to smaller plans of action. It's a bit hard when the other half isn't really on board and just rolls her eyes when ever I try and talk about it. At least my son is showing an interest.

Welcome to my world bro  Stick with it, Missus Deeps has softened on some stuff, especially the help on the allotment and the idea that there is no harm in keeping some stuff in Casa Deeps instead of the supermarket shelves. I've not had to invest in a 'pour femme' set of zombie slaying gear yet but I do get the rolling eyes and tuts from time to time. Good luck amigo.
