That one without the battery looks the dogs! Just what I was looking for. Wonder if it's properly waterproof and if they would honour a warranty should it become water damaged. Think I'll email and ask.

Meantime, my Aukey powerbank arrived. It looks the part, I tells ye! Quality feeling battery. Here's the photo:

The Aukey claims 74 WH or 20000mah. This confuses me because it was only £20 and the GZ Sherpa 50 is $200. The Sherpa claims 50WH or only 5200mah. These numbers aren't making much sense to me. The Sherpa's 'what it charges' table below is similar, but still don't quite make sense.

Either way, I'm thinking that the Aukey was a good move - it has an 18 month warranty. The GZ and others are only 12 months.

The Aukey is a bit more honest about it's performance I bet. It clarifies that an iPhone can be charged 9 full times and an iPad at least once. The Sherpa, if it really does have less capacity as the specs suggest, it bound to leave most people disappointed. My 'smartphone' has a battery of nearly double that of an iPhone, and so I will not expect 9 full charges from it. I'll be happy with five or even a bit less. If the Sherpa is indicating that it will charge an iPhone 7 times, then most smartphones will be less than 4.

Aye, good that. Amazing price too! I've got the Guide 10, two of them in fact. They do the samr thing, really handy they are. There is one by portapow that costs about a tenner as well.

Only problem is the AA batteries have such limited power. Versatile as they may be.
