Love your plans for your revamp on the caravan, looks brilliant so far. Good luck with it. :)

Looks like it's going to be robust! Watch out for the amount of weight you will be adding, the original framing was probably only 2x1 faced with thin ply and braced where point loading will occur.
Keep up the good work.

I understand the weight issue. I am conscious of it however the 2x1 battening I have isn't sufficient to even support my weight (14.5 stone) let alone my wife as well lying down on the double.

I have now purchased some 7.5mm thick, pine tongue and groove boarding which I am going to use to clad in the frames and even more strength and stability and from there then look to make the seat tops/covers and table

So today I got my materials to start cladding in the bench seats. I managed to pick up some 7.5mm thick, pine, tongue and groove boarding from B&Q for a bargain price. A 5 pack of 2.1m long x 95 wide cost me £2! I bought 4 for this.

I did about an hour this morning and got one front done before having to leave to sort my daughter. I'll be doing this over the coming weeks and posting updates.

Sunday 19/4/15

I spent the best part of three hours today finishing all of the seat cladding and also got the original sink/2 hob unit mounted where it's going to stay. Apart from som rough edges that need tidying up the next things I'm going to do are to cut and fit the tops with hinges to fully finish the seats and also make up the doors for the under sink cabinet.

Yes it is! It's a 1983 Casita folding caravan. Not many of them about nowadays anyway so I'm doing my best to make this our own

I just one want for the back garden haha! We don't have a car yet :( i love the fact you are completely re-fitting it, i did joinery as part of a college Construction course, so i know the basics, but i don't think i'd have the balls to do a full caravan from scratch. The most we made was a birdbox and a gate for a fence! I did make a bridge and chimney mind you on the bricklaying part of the course... but i digress :)
