Hello from NW Suffolk!

Post by Nate66 »

Hey all! Looking for some folks in the NW Suffolk / SW Norfolk area to hook up with and share ideas, tips, etc. If interested, give me a shout. I am a prior U.S. military guy with a ton of experience in the survival arena. I have been through formal jungle / desert / woodland survival course in the military as well as growing up in NW Tennessee out in the sticks. Would love to hear from folks in my area.

Hello. What are you preparing for? What brings you to UK Preppers?
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Robert Frost.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.

Me.

Just prepping. In today's unstable economic, political, cultural environment who knows what is around the next corner. I am just consolidating my feces so I will hopefully have a leg up on whatever comes down the pike. Would be great to hook up with some like minded people because there is always strength in numbers. I know a lot about survival and such, but there is always someone to teach you something and you are never to old to learn. Cheers, Nate.

Hello, I replied in your other thread but I live not too far from you. I'm looking more along the lines of bugging in rather than out and out survivalism :) stockpiles and sustainability for me (eventually) but to be fair I'd never be able to defend it if required!

OCD, Bugging "in" is not a bad idea depending on your location. The surrounding area plays a vital role in your sustainability. You can only store so much water. Food is easier to store than water. Again depending on your location to fresh water sources you could survive indef if you have one close by, but you even have to think about contaminants and such on standing water bodies. A natural spring would be much better. Also as with any location, security is a major factor. If you can't protect your resources, it doesn't matter how much you store if raiding parties can get to it. Let me know what kind of location you are in and I could provide you tips on security.

Hello Nate66,
Couldn't use the PM because I don't have enough post here in the forum. Anyway I've been working in your town since since last summer. I was Army 10 years, then a Civ for 10 years. Anyway yeah I'm good for some field training or just having a drink.
