Baden-Powell had the right idea.
Long time lurker/reader of these forums along with Mrs BristolDave. We don't tend to post much as we are new to prepping insomuch as doing it "properly". We began about 5 years ago with laying down some food and water in case of a bad winter and we have continued from there. We both enjoy this website as even when people disagree they are really nice about it

Have you read the original 1908 version of 'Scouting for Boys' ?
It's a really good read especially for the old school members.

My prepping consists of bugging out by bicycle so any comments are likely to be based on that scenario.

Thank you for the kind greetings. I've not read the original Scouting for Boys but I did read the Scouting Manual when I was a lad. This was to lead to other books on bushcraft and survival, one of which I rediscovered a couple of years ago - How to Survive by Brian Hildreth.
I'm looking forward to encouraging the kids with scouting/guiding.

My son and myself are actively trying to get my 7 year old grandson interested in scouting.
I am actually watching him at the moment and the two worlds he seems to orbit in.
First world, is when he gets near a computer and just wanders off into such things as minecraft (watching not programming)
Second world, is when I take him along to our local common where our radio society meets for field days.
The change in him when he meets the children of other hams is unbelievable. He runs around and does things I can remember doing when I was about his age.
Can't beat playing in the woods and getting the imagination out of cold storage lol.
Anyhow, welcome to the forum.
