I treated myself to a hatchet for a fiver, I've got a fairly hefty kukri I use for chopping firewood etc as it quite light weight but for a fiver you can't go wrong. If I can justify the full size bad boy to Her Maj, I'll probably get one, just 'cos.

I looked at these axes in Aldi and wasn't impressed the haft looks like it is made of plastic. It may be good for light garden work but I don't think it would last very long at all in the outdoors
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, Give a man religion and he will starve to death waiting for God to feed him.

Why are stupid people so fertile?

Just went to have a gander. I'll stick with my SFA. Look bloody awful, shoddily made. Don't see 'em lasting very long at all. Could be wrong though, happened a couple of times before ;)

The shafts are made from fibreglass, the theory is that no vibrations reach your hands and the shafts are supposed to last longer than hickory.

I have not tried my ones out as of yet, but if they last you a couple of years, then you have had you monies worth out of them. :)
