Re: Drinks Can Meths Stove
Awesome! I know this a daft question, but do you think you can use cooking oil instead of alcohol? (please don't laugh lol)

Cooking oil is probably to thick, but can be used with a wick to provide lighting. https://youtu.be/f6gEbagFhnU

I very much like the thread and can see me using this model to show my 7 year old grandson a way of making a cooker. The lad loves to tinker in my forge/workshop and has a real keen eye for basic problem solving.
The subject of meths had me and my 88 year old father looking back at the creeping changes to our area shops over the years.
One thing we noticed upon reflection was that there was once no problem walking to a local hardware shop to buy all things imaginable for projects, today in Chelmsford it means a trek to one of the big DIY stores for even the basics like meths.
How things change and, in my opinion, not always for the better.
Thanks for the pictures and guide.

Funnily enough I was going to make one myself this evening, as I have an evening in all to myself... that went belly up when I had to spend three so and so hours on the phone. Oh for some peace and quiet.
