Good stuff Crows, softly, softly, catchy monkey and all that. I've got a similar thing with missus Deeps, she's not exactly on the same page as myself but I'm making progress. Even use 'excuses' like "with inflation at such a low level, it makes sense to bulk buy stuff now, the prices are only going to go up". My policy is to only stock foodstuffs that I use normally so they can be cycled in to our normal usage, I've stretched it a little with some things but I don't have any foodstuffs stockpiled that I either don't eat pretty much every day or at least occasionally like Fray Bentos pies or tinned meatballs. The other thing I've been doing to convince Her Maj that 'prepping' is a good thing is helping her out on the allotment which has always been her thing but I've been more pro-active, even telling her about offers that I've read on here.Crows wrote:11matic - My dad has only fired his gun once (one bullet) in 5 years so he should be fine.
I had a little talk with him and we got talking about Peak Oil (something i'm interested in) and when I mentioned gathering a stockpile, he said. "Hmm, okay". This means he is fine with it and will probably help out
Preparing in secret?

Re: Preparing in secret?
HE IS IN!!! We celebrated my birthday early today because my dad has to go out to the Indian Ocean tomorrow but I mentioned getting air rifles and he promised we would when he came back. Also when I opened the presents (detailed when I finish the post on "what preps are you doing this week part 2.) about survival and prepping he automatically went to the zombie apocalypse scenario but I told him about all the other stuff...
And he said he would be into getting prepared for that!

To prep or not to prep?
There is no question!

Congratulations! It's always great to hear a family member has come around. I'm really pleased for you.
