Hello everyone,

long time lurker but been unable to register due to a spamming isp. Tried tonight on the off chance and it worked. Woohoo

anyhow I live around the dumfries area with the family out in the sticks. Never thought about the what to do if? until last year the power went off in winter for a week. Where we live it was our only source of power and heat, now we have a wood burner to back up our regular central heating and cooker.

Then we got snowed in this year for a week, no snow tyres, no chains, no snow shovel, no extra food as we usually shop a few times a week. So we are now working on that.

Im also big into shooting and hunting and have been for the last 10 years and im now getting more into "bushcraft"

I would recomend to anyone to go without power for a week. It really focuses what you do and do not need. But also what you can and cannot do!
