You may well have done. You wouldn't notice them if you weren't really looking but they are in a good accessible position.raz wrote:I was walking my dog earlier and went past an allotment normally id just walk past without taking notice but this thread has made me think about getting a plot so i was having a look at peoples set ups and think i saw urs lol

So today at the allotment the plan was to build my netting tunnel, plant my sugar snap peas and really water everything down.
I took 4 pieces of 1" blue PVC irrigation tubing and cut tem to length. I then buried them in there at intervals and lashed them at the ridge with a bamboo cane.

I then planted the sugar snap peas into the bed next to the leeks.

Once that was done I pulled the next img over and secured it in place

Then I watered everything thoroughly and took some poly tunnel photos.

Finally I pulled up one radish to have in a salad and although small they have a real kick!

It's been a nice day today although very hot. Got to keep on top of the watering as we have a thriving amount of onions, leeks, parsnips, potatoes, strawberries and other veg now.

The fencing and boundaries have been stiffened as last year a lot of the sheds/greenhouses were vandalised. At least now it has some very stout boundary fencing and each allotment plot had their own fencing/barbed wire/razor wire

You have fences around your allotmnet? We just have one around the site.
Re: My New BOL/Allotment Diary
Yes the whole boundary is fenced off with gated access 24/7 as all plot holders have the main gate key. Each individual plot is also fenced off from one another and the plot residents secure the plot themselves however they please. My plot has wooden fencing topped with barbed wire to stop people climbing over should they break onto the main allotment.Hillbilly wrote:dannytsg wrote:Well if you would like to put yourself down on this one I could always provide you the detail pal.raz wrote:ye it's in a nice enough area my dog likes to run around the hills next to the rugby field so im down there quite a bit. have to say the fences are a lot better than the 1 i went to look at near mine coptrod is my closest & when i went to have a look nearly all the sheds were broken into or vandalised.. safe to say im not on the waiting list >.<

Spent an hour up at the allotment today with my wife and daughter watering everything again. We have now planted in some Asparagus shoots to allow them to mature and we managed to finish off the tipi for my daughter and nephew to play in.
We kept this thrifty and used 2 1.8 x 1.2 silver tarps we had lying around topped with a double duvet cover that we cut to fit, pegged it down to the ground and secured it with some garden twine.

I have decided to remove the pallet from the floor and just put down a picnic matt we have whenever it's going to be used. It's not bad for a £5 throw together and I must say I have pleased myself with this.
