If we shop around we can get sachets cheaper, some of the cheapo shops are good, we can get them for about 3 quid, sometimes they're about £4.50 if they're not discounted. The ordering of pet food is very much Her Maj's 'part of ship' so I bow to her superior knowledge but I think the problem is picky pussies and a pandering mum. We do need to stockpile though, and having just thought about it, I've not figured in the beasts water requirements but as I've posted in another thread, biding in sunny Scotland its probably not a huge issue and we've got a fairly big pond that they could use, providing the back garden wasn't full of zombies.

I was going to recommend Zooplus until I saw you both already use it! Mine get Bozita tetrapacks which are good quality, full to the brim, and rectangular boxes so they can be stacked with no space in-between. One box does both cats 2 meals each. I also buy them Animonda Carny tins but they take up more space

The 'Basket Weaving Course' was the term for the drying out course for the naughty boys who drink too much in the Navy, hopefully not the same thing Junmist.

Got mrs Andy's new "security" gate made and up tonight needs the hight cutting evenly (planks were slightly different lenghts so made the top the uneven length end so just need to whip them down with the circular saw tomorrow... and sort the cladding either side ....

fitted a pin number lock similar to this

http://www.slingers1858.co.uk/door-lock ... -door-lock

so we avoid getting locked out of the garden without any keys should it blow shut....

likewise no messing fumbling for keys if you need to get in , in a hurry .

need to get it painted and some spike strip for the top http://www.livesafe.co.uk/Prikka-Strip_webpage.htm

that makes her back way secure as it can be
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Stocking the shelves to bursting point starts today. My Wife recieved her redundancy 'Brochure' yesterday. Out of 23 staff only 9 will remain. We have a head start though, as the managemwnt are doing it properly ( to avoid tribunals), and the contracts end on 31 December. Chuck in monies owed and a ( very) small payoff we have until March 2016 before shtf.
It sounds as though I am panicking, but I am very much a belt n braces fella. This redundancy thing is visiting our house way too often. Problem is youcannot make long term plans anymore.
Fortunately after my episode I tried to position us so we could hit the ground running so to speak, and set up a part time bike repair business. That is going well, but will always be part time. I really feel for people who get this situation and have no fall back position, and despite the so -called 'Recovery', redundancy seems to be more common.
Anyhow, today we shop!
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.

Good for you J. Having been through it before, you're well equipped to get sorted.

Yep, good for you jansman. I'm self employed, and my business is winding down - when I *do* work, its well paid, but a long term client is leaving next month, makes a big hole in my income. The shopping hasn't been going badly, though I'm definitely using my preps now, and I need to find the energy to use the crops around me - energy's a problem. So today ... find the recipe for rhubarb jam. Alice Fowler (the forager) says that elderflowers go well in it, and there's a tree on the green near my house, so we'll see.
