Fear Factor

Post by alwayscross »

Sounds weird and paranoid but a great way to avoid having to fight is by scaring the opponent, so I have been looking at some masks. A friend told me a story of how he had three house robbers, he managed to scare them away by putting on a clown mask and chasing them while screaming. This would be a great way to avoid having to fight, might save your life. I also find it quite funny too, I have found a few good masks. Tell me what you think and feel free to show me some of your own, along with thoughts.

Personally I would rather learn a skill like Krav Maga and kick the crap out of them, in self defence of course.

Masks are for dressing up and I don't have a weird fetish!

Learning martial arts doesn't mean you will win a fight at all, once a knife is involved all is equal regardless of size. If you come against more than one person (unless you have 2+ years of experience) you are also in trouble, trust me when I have seen this happen. The fear factor is your greatest friend in a fight, means a fight can either been done easier or can be avoided.

The mesh over the eyes is interesting ...

but, as with any threat, you have to be able to back it up. There are endless films (Star Wars, Harry Potter) where there's a joke moment to break the tension - Han Solo/Ron Weasley run towards the bad guys, screaming blue murder and intimidating them like mad, and ten seconds later, they're running the other way with the bad guys after them at full tilt. Yes its a comedy break, but the principle is sound - once you commit to scaring bad guys, you have to be prepared to commit to that all the way.

Sounds weird alright! Thought it was April first joke. Let's keep it within the realms of of reality. Topic locked.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
