Shtf roads grid locked and your either trying to get home or bugging out... You can filter traffic/ use back ally's / narrow paths
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

At least with a horse it will keep you fed for a month maybe two , and youll still have a cart to pull or push .......... Just saying

My point was simple, it's difficult to consider a situation so dire that requires “bugging out” that would not include all the major roads jammed or more likely shut to “control” the situation by the authorities.
Yes I concede a bike would be better than a car at slipping through no argument there, but speed in truce would be limited by safety, dumped and abandoned vehicles, pedestrians walking etc plus as mentioned probable road blocks.

A normal road bike has very limited off road capabilities and is DESIGNED to generate as much noise as possible, some small and quiet and with EMP in mind a simple kick start system maybe.
So what do you carry in your bug out bag? That would be more interesting, bike tanks are limited planning to carry extra fuel or have stashes
As for Narrow paths, again I say pedestrians, for me Bugout has to be before the event to really work, if your bugging out along with the sheeple, too late

All said and done, nice bike I gave my last one up a few years agao and still miss it

Lots of interesting stuff
