REALLY BRIGHT YELLOW TORCH?LANTERN NEEDED

Post by katilea »

Just had power cut here and I really struggled with the wind up blue light lantern I have to find anything. Was trying to find batteries for some JML candles I have but it wasn't much brighter even though it was yellow light so a bit better.

Are there any Torches or lantern that give out a bright yellow light like having a lamp or house lights on? (battery operated if possible rather than wind up or camping gas).

Thanks

How yellow do you mean?

do you mean a soft aka warm white light vs a cool harsh blue light?

It's not sustainable but I've always used glow sticks for this kind of thing. Decent ones are cheap as chips and a few will easily light up a room.

My 3D cell Maglite is bright enough to light a room.

Put on wide beam and pointed at the ceiling, LED bulb means the batteries last an age but they're more white than yellow.

Do you have a link so I know what I'm looking for?

Depends how much you want to spend of course, but I'd always go for something like a Thrunite Archer in Neutral White.

It runs on a single AA battery and has 4 levels of output, lasts for 2 hours on the brightest level or 400 hours on the lowest (on a single battery!)

Ideal pepper's torch, you can get AAs anywhere on the planet, cheap as chips.

Grab one of those and a pack of Duracell AAs and you're set. (Make sure its the NW -neutral white- version though.)

Alternatively there's the Thrunite T10, which only seems to be available in the more expensive stainless steel version at the moment, which comes with a diffuser so you can use it as a lantern too.
