I was also wondering if those of you with animals what are you storing for them? I've got loads of the best quality freeze dried biscuits I can get a hold of, water and medic bits for them. And for meat for the dog (and us) we've also got the trusty air rifles. So we went to America last year and this time found the bass pro shop has anyone been? It's amazing guns, camo, fishing, hunting gear, anything you can think of they sell wish we had one here- great for prepping! Maria

Hi from n.wales
Hey everyone this is my first post, so not sure really what to say... I'm Maria and 25 I've been prepping for about 4 years. My mum and brothers are also into prepping and my older siblings have already "bugged out" a few years ago pretty much off grid. Were at our stepping stone in a rural village in wales for now.. The dream is a small holding with animals and acreage. I was wondering if any of you have managed to convert family and friends into prepping?

Hello and welcome. Don't have any animals except for Sam the dog so can't really help you there, but being a Blank(not a bloke and not a Yank, just a Blank) hailing from West Tennessee but been here for over 17 years, I have been to Bass Pro Shops and yes they are awesome. If anyone hears of one here, please let me know. Again welcome and if you have any questions, I am sure there is a member on here that has the answer and has prolly done it. A great site.

Welcome. I store all sorts for our livestock. I breed rabbits, so plenty of pellet concentrate, Fowls-same again.
As for Bass Pro Shop, being an avid lure angler, I have bought a lot of gear online from them. The USA is miles in front in lure technology, and braided line in particular(although it is now easier to get here.)

Depends what animals you are hoping to have. Dog's what you eat Cat's bit of meat/fish and what ever they catch for themselves. Rabbits Chickens look out for a book called keeping poultry and rabbits on scraps by Alan Thompson It's illegal to keep them this way at the mo but in a SHFT that's how you will need to keep them, Same with pigs in fact if you can pick up any book about how to live in the war years it will help. Living in wales you will most probably keep sheep unless you are going to do your own shearing don't go for the native welsh sheep ( experience from my cousin it is hard work and fleece has very little value) go for the cross breed easy care sheep. If you are thinking of keeping cows the native welsh black which can also be a house cow would be your best bet.
