Aluminium was long ago linked with Alzheimer's but I think it's been poopooed by the experts now. I think the major drawback with it is that it's soft and fragile. The steel ones are stronger, more reliable and more expensive.

I only went for that one really because I'm a tart for stuff like that lol! Plus it will look proper gnarly in years to come when it gets its used patina.

Now the council down here has stopped taking the green bins, I'll have loads of smaller bits to burn in it in the wood store.
The black one does look cooler, I admit. Might be worth paying the extra for. I like that there is no farting around with chains and handles like on my kelly kettle. I've burned myself loads of times with it. The F1 expensive one in the link doesn't come with a storage bag, but really I think you need one with a kettle like this. All those little parts to it need to be kept together. The F1 one, as well, had a nice little system that made it pack away smaller than my kelly kettle does. There doesn't seem to be any information on that stuff on the cheaper one. Hmm, I'm tempted and conflicted. Space is an issue when I only have one bag wild camping.
Yes I hear you re. Wild camping with it, I'm hoping it won't be too much of a beast when it arrives, in the pics it jus looked like one of the big steins you could get beer in at agric college back in the day.

I'm prob going to carry it in one of the side pockets of my bob (NI patrol pack) or my 4x4 so I'm probably not as concerned with the sizing. I was thinking I could stuff all my brew kit inside the funnel bit to save on space.

It should be here on Tuesday, if the mods will let me, as I'm only new :o I'll post some pictures for you with it packed down, might even put a steel ruler in there for a scale if I can find it

Pictures would be good! That little space is useful in the funnel. I stick my brew stuff into it as well at fire lighting stuff. Hopefully it works as a water carrier too and doesn't leak. Just makes it that little bit more useful.

Bought one! Bought the silver one for £27.50. Hope it arrives quick I'm doing a wild camp on Friday. I'll give it a thorough testing.

Oh, also, I emailed and asked some questions. Apparently the kettle has a lifetime warranty but the clause is that it is the 'usual lifetime' of the product, presumably at their discretion. Also, they told me that the type of fuel or fire starter could void the warranty since if the temperature is too high it can burn and damage the kettle. They didn't tell me anything specific, but if there is evidence of something like uranium I imagine they wouldn't replace it.

Good choice! Still waiting for mine. Although I'm not going wild camping this week, just wanted to cook up a brew on the patio this week
Looking at he couriers tracking website, it's not gonna be here before tomorrow. Let's hope there isn't a power cut :tinfoil

I'm looking forward to your reviews as I've always wanted a Kelly type Kettle. Do you know if you can use this one for cooking as per the Kelly?

I've got the big kelly kettle basecamp and I was considering doing a little vid on it for YouTube. Just demonstrating it in actual use. There are quite a few already online but I like making vids to what the hell. This is the model I have:

Then I'll do another one next week to compare it to this tiny one.

Thanks! It's the little one I'm keen on for camping. My camping stuff has to be small and light as I use public transport.

Mine came today, what a little beast, I'm properly impressed.

It's probably only just wider than one of those metal drink bottles like the sigg ones but a bit shorter, it will easily fit in the side pocket of a NI Patrol pack. Which is handy because that is where it will live.

Proper light as well. Plus it has a decent bung so it can double up as a bonus water carrier. It holds just under a pint.

I just made two brews in the garden with it  with me elderly neighbour having a nose over the fence. It makes 2 decent mugs of brew, boiled in just shy of 4 minutes room a handful Of twigs from my fuel box and a scrunched up envelope.

If they did them in pink I think Mrs Derv would be after one.
